Sun Yesterday, Rain Today

The croissants are too good here!

Though the weather forecast for yesterday was not good it was one of those days that the weather forecasters got it wrong. Unfortunately they got it correct today. The rain is coming down steadily. While it is not pouring it is not great at about 10:00AM.
Yesterday I walked for miles. I went from the Promenade des Anglais to the Vieille Ville, through a flea market, saw many Fruits de Mer restaurants, into the old streets and up and up and up. There is a Chateau overlooking the old city and a public park. I could not make it to the top but later after my descent I saw there is an elevator to the top.
I am hoping the rain lets up and I can try to get to the top. I did get up pretty high and there were cemeteries way up. It turns out the first cemetery was a Jewish one. Higher up I saw crosses so the other area is Christian. The view of the city and the hills was fabulous.
I waited too late to have lunch at the most interesting restaurant which was closed after lunch service by the time I arrived. Had a mediocre lunch and continued walking after lunch to the port which is undergoing renovation. There were a couple of pretty large boats docked.
I am trying to decide what to do today. The weather puts a damper on things. Hope it will clear a little.

Tomorrow I go to Avignon for two nights on my way to Paris.
