I love the streets, architecture, restaurants, museums and even the metro which comes religiously about every five minutes. Most stations have an electric sign which displays how much time until the next train. The longest time displayed was six minutes but usually less.
Another interesting thing here are bikes. There are bikes at the stations and people use them and then leave them at the stations for the next person. They must pay a fee to be in the network. Very practical, all grey and all have baskets.
I have finally been able to change my internal time clock. I am now managing to stay up until around one AM and able to sleep until eight or nine. I love my little hotel room where I have stayed four times before this trip. It has changed hands, is newly renovated and still reasonable.
Yesterday I went to two restaurants I used to frequent in '67 and '68. For lunch I went to Au Bon CousCous, back then and still now the cheapest game in town. It was almost as cheap as my two cups of cafe au lait and croissant this morning which with a little tip was ten Euros at a cafe at Place Bastille. It is very expensive here because the dollar is not worth much. My couscous lunch with a glass of wine came to €12, about $16. [Continued...]
