I went to visit the gardens which were even further up. I did get to the top, but I wish I didn't have so much trouble climbing. The view was extensive. Again lots of signs of Spring.
Went out for dinner intending to walk way back into the center of the old city. I walked with some Scottish people from the hotel. I might have gone a different way (there are not too many choices) but I walked their way. There was an Irish bar which was beginning to draw a crowd. It was Saint Patrick's Day.
Almost next door there was a Brasserie which had oysters. It even had Choucroute, so that's where I went. Had a lovely dinner with a half bottle of Sancerre. There were hundreds of people outside the Irish Bar when I left. I got the Choucroute out of my system but still crave oysters. The editor (Robert) may remember le Bar Des Huitres. There is one right down the street from where I am staying in Paris. [The editor sighs.]I am in Paris and my dinner date, Rosamond from NYC, miscalculated. We made a date weeks ago but she thought she was leaving tomorrow but she left today. I am going to go to the restaurant anyway and eating solo.
