Astronomical Clock

One of the most amazing and largest tourist attraction is the astronomical clock. It goes off every hour on the hour with the same mechanisms from I think the 14th century. The windows open and the 10 apostles all make an appearance while the skeleton rings the bell. I think that is the order. All the figures move and then I think it is a bell and then it all goes silent until the next hour. Although I saw it twice, I don't have WiFi while I am writing this so I can't check my facts.
For a city with so many churches and crucifixions the amount of believers is minuscule. About 60% of the population do not follow any religion. So says my guide on our city walk. However in the history of the city there are many murders and intrigue surrounding kings and clergy. There were family killings, boiled in oil murders, thrown in the river demises. You name it, they did it here.
From Wikipedia:  A medieval astronomical clock  mounted on the southern wall of Old Town City Hall in the Old Town Square.  It is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.
Prague is full of tourists. I can only imagine the congestion in the summer months. Must be horrendous. I have been lucky in a sense because I have been off season for my entire trip.
