I will write later. I am so tired. I think there are more tourists in Istanbul than anywhere I've ever been. It certainly seems so after Hagia Sofia. I've never seen so many people from so many places. Maybe Bangkok was close in diversity of tourists. Some Poles sat down next to me outside Hagia Sofia asked me if I was Russian. That's a surprise. [Pinsk is near Minsk, but I digress.]
Waiting in the lobby of our hotel. We decided to go on a tour this afternoon to a small Hagia Sofia, I guess a smaller mosque. It's interesting how the size of Grand Central pales in comparison to the large Hagia Sofia Museum. Also the Blue Mosque was churning the tourists through. I was surprised that many women didn't put on head scarves even though there were directions everywhere. Everyone took off their shoes. We'll be going to Topkapi Palace afterwards.
Tomorrow it's a 5:30 AM pickup for our plane to Cappdoccia. Tourism is the #1 business here.
Now, back to dinner -- Not so great but kind of fun. Fish with salt, what's not to like:
Nothing up my sleeve!
