Florentine Commentary (Without Spinach)

Just lost a whole e-mail while switching to the link below. I did not know about the Vasari Corridor, the passageway over all the goldshops on the Ponte Del Vecchio. Looks it will be a highlight of the visit here. Even though the tour -- given only three days a week and in Italian -- I think it will be very interesting.
Yesterday we saw the cells where the Friars lived and Savonarola was put under arrest. He did, however get the largest cell. The Museo San Marco had many Fra Angelicos.

Today we'll be driving to the country somewhere for lunch. Then tomorrow we do cooking with Sharon starting at the Mercato Centrale. Fresh pasta and duck. Pictures to follow.

Tuesday morning it's the statue of David at the Accademia while Nancy swims. (Reservations are hard to come by.) Tuesday night is Kol Nidre at the Synagogue. Friday night is a family birthday party for a nephew of Stefano's. Their apartment is lovely but up to the top floor by stairs. It's a tough climb.

The hotel is very nice but absolutely the worst coffee ever! Also expensive wifi. Free wifi is only four flights up and crossing a major intersection in Florence which has about six streets to wait for the green light to cross but much closer as the crow flies.

Here's a link to the Vasari Corridor: Worth A Click
