I walked about a mile to the underwater observatory in Eilat. It was really cool. One can see a coral reef from underwater from the observatory. They have pictures with names of the different fish and different coral. In fact it seems there are 200 varieties of fish and 100 varieties of coral. I then went on a glass bottomed boat, or more accurately, a glass windowed boat in which we were below and could see the coral reefs and fish from inside the boat.
The weather today was overcast and it was a little cool. What a perfect day to make a field trip.
It was quite amazing to see all the underwater stuff. There was coral which looked like brains. There was coral which looked like mounds of moss. There was coral which was blue and looked like forget-me-nots. There was coral which looked like dusty millers. There was coral which looked like undulating masses. There were many varieties of fish with many colors, with the males being the most picturesque, and also many jellyfish.
So I took break from the sun and reading and did something else. In the pictures, the background is Aqaba, Jordan. This location is the meeting of the resorts of Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
